The Alibi - Dalston - Not for the prim and proper
If you enjoy dressing up to the nines, going to nice club and sipping on G+Ts, this place is NOT for you!  A regular night out in Shoreditch with some friends led me to this hidden ‘treasure’. A free underground club hidden from street view, the only thing indicating its existence is a chalkboard sign on the street. You descend down into a sawdust ‘under construction’ cave...

Covent Garden Thai Square- Yum yum shopping escape
I <3 Covent Garden.  The cobbled streets, the boutique shops amongst labelled fashion, and pubs/bars and restaurants galore for an evenings out…it’s just a London lovely.  But after a morning of shopping all I wanted was a nice quiet lunch with a good magazine. Armed with the latest Glamour Magazine, I seeked out a cafe where ‘eating solo’ wouldn’t appear weird....

constellationnoise asked: Thanks so much, I'm so excited for my trip.
I'm staying at St. Pancras in London
What top ten things (in your opinion) should I see? Especially the "real" London.

Art4Fun - Ceramic creations in Hampstead
Whilst in a bit of a tizz about what get for my friend’s son’s 1st birthday, Art4Fund was suggested to me. Despite my poor paintbrush to eye co-ordination skills, I thought why not!? I entered cafe come art studio bustling with groups, families individuals knee high in paints, brushes, stencils and stamps obviously having a whale of a time! The place it shelved floor to ceiling with...

Camden - Proud
I am ashamed to say until recently I had never been to Proud, Camden. The venue is amazing, as it is location the 200-year-old Grad II Listed Horse Hospital in the Stables Market.  I’ve heard during the day that it’s a nice place to go and chill and have food. The reason I went there was to see a friend’s ban perform and I was really impressed! Apart from the main venue,...

Cape Town Fish Market - A Piece of South Africa in...
A long planned night out with Uni girls meant a lovely meal in the West End had to be on the cards! When I was 18 I spent 3 months in South Africa, and Cape Town fish was amazing….and I miss it so much! So when I saw this place online with a special deal (2 courses for £13.95!!) I just had to book.  The place is stunning with great service. Though we ate from the set menu they also have...

Bar Kick Kicks Ass!!
A very sweet country bumpkin friend (soon to become Londoner!) asked me to show her a trendy treat of London one evening. In Shoreditch I’d walked by Bar Kick a few times and once we saw the football tables we had to go in. Fuelled by fantastic mojitos we battled it out on the tables! And soon we were joined by a couple of guys to double it up. If table football isn’t your thing, they...

Surviving the Boxing Day Sales in London
So Boxing Day Sales…my opinion.. ridiculous!! The day after Christmas I still can’t move to save my life, and just want to slump on the sofa watching stupid TV with family. But sales are tempting, and you have to survive them, because the queues that happen in London you have a high chance of getting crushed, confused, bruised and saddened that the lovely dress that you really wanted...

Best ways to stay warm in London over the winter!
I am definitely not a winter person, if I could I’d be back in South America like I was this time last year! So I’ve tried, tested and now formulated a little list of things to do in London that will keep you warm: 1. Museums and gallaries Alright alright this is meant to be tourist avoidance, but these are free and fantastic. I try to go to the least crowded room, find a fantastic...

Carnivale Bar - Minding the gap in a kooky way
So on Saturday night I went to an event called ‘Mind the Gap,’ which promotes home grown talent at different venues in East London. My friend’s band, Mademoiselle Mademoiselle, were playing so I went to watch them and to scout out other up and coming artists. Although my friend’s band was fantastic, The Rodeo were great too…a Parisian lady and an acoustic guitar (yes,...

Railway Tavern pub - So chilled the ex took me...
So Tuesday night I meet up with a uni-ex for an overdue post work dinner. Admittedly we broke up on good terms and have gotten on well since so any place to eat would do, but the least awkward and un-date like the better! So we meet in the Moorgate/Liverpool Street area, which I am not so familiar with as it is the district of suits and briefcases. So he took me to the Railway Tavern, right near...

Vintage cafes in Piccadilly that won't break the...
During a phase of unemployment, I was wandering around Piccadilly before an interview finding a place to grab some food. Being Piccadilly I wasn’t so keen on the the posh, overpriced ‘cafes’ they had along the main streets, so decided to venture off in hope. So down White Horse Street I find Sheperd Square, a place with suits on lunch break, but still a nice suprise! It has a...

Shopping down Brick Lane
I avoid Oxford Street, Covent Garden and South Kensington as much as possible for shopping due to the masses of crowds and tourists (though the range of shops is undeniable). If you are into good value boutiques, vintage clothes, retro designers and showcasing designers, go to Brick Lane. The range of shops and clothes is immense, and I love finding new designs and getting unique pieces that...

Camden Town - Day and Night
So Camden Town is one of my favourite places, no matter what time of day. I live so close to it that I often pop there when there was nothing to do. The smell of weed as you walk over the bridge just floods back the memories of when I used to hang out there by the market when I was 15. Day In the day, tourist central. My visits are often fleeting, and usually to do the same things. I’m...
